Terms & Conditions
“We/us/our” Means travel agency Tauri Travel Ltd. and it is a Private Limited Company registered in England and Wales. Registered Office: 11 Masefield Way NN17 2NL Corby, Northamptonshire, England.
“You/your” Means the person who has signed the booking form and includes all the people on whose behalf you have signed.
“Event” Means any holiday, tour, accommodation, activity or function organised or advertised by us.
“Supplier” Means the company or person that is holding or providing the Event or any part of it.
“Meeting Point” Means the place specified by us in the Tour Pack as the place we will meet and start your Event.
“Private Tour” Means the Event which can be booked by a group in which all persons are willing to go for the given Event together. Once the Private Tour is booked by a group, no other persons can join this Event unless the lead name will agree that these people can join the same Event.
“Tour Pack” Means whatever documents we send to you in hard or soft copy to provide information about the Event or the description of the tour available on our website.
“Price” Means the total cost of the Event.
Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions govern the contract between you and us to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions save for those implied by law, and no variation to these terms and conditions shall be valid unless in writing and signed by you and the company director.
Formation of Contract
No contract shall arise between you and us until we have received the deposit payable and we have sent to you written confirmation (this can be in the form of an email) of our acceptance of your booking.
The lead name on any booking with us accepts the full responsibility of collecting the full balance payable for the booking and indemnifies Tauri Travel Ltd. against any loss from any individual failing to pay within the group. The lead name of the group is also responsible for ensuring that all group members are aware they are bound by our terms and conditions. The lead name is also responsible for the completion of the online guest list on behalf of all persons on the booking. It is understood that those booking via email or telephone agree to, and accept our terms and conditions.
Dates and itineraries are valid until 31 December 2017. Beyond 31 December 2017 dates and itineraries can be treated as indicative only.
Payment & Deposits
All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (GBP) unless it is indicated otherwise.
Deposits are payable after receiving the confirmation of availability of the services by Us and the balance of payments are split into the following phases:
- An agreed non-refundable non-transferable deposit. This deposit is payable after receiving a written confirmation of services from us. The deadline for paying the deposit will be indicated in the confirmation received from us. The deposit equals £400 in the case of the Events including the Galápagos Islands and £250 in the case of other Events.
- The final balance (total price minus deposit). The deadline for paying the final balance is stated in the itinerary (in the “more information” section) of every Event. By making a reservation of the tour, you accept and agree to the stated payment policy.
If you do not make your payments by the due dates given on our website (tauritravel.com), then you shall be deemed to have cancelled the Event.
Deposits are used by us to enter into the contractual arrangements on your behalf and are non-refundable. Payments have to be made with the online bank transfers payable to Tauri Travel Ltd. where upon receipt we will endeavour to place the booking for you at the same price, although this cannot be guaranteed. We will, however, notify you if there will be an increase in price.
If you have a voucher from Tauri Travel only one can be used per person.
Cancellation by Us
We may cancel the Event or any part of it: for safety reasons if we or our supplier(s) regard adverse weather conditions or other safety concerns as unacceptable and which cannot reasonably be overcome; If we reasonably believe that you may cause harm or damage to our reputation or to the reputation of our suppliers or to property belonging to our suppliers; If a supplier or suppliers are unable to host the event for any reason; If changes you wish to make to the booking mean it is uneconomical or impractical to hold the Event. If we cancel the whole of the Event we shall use our best endeavours to rearrange the Event on a mutually convenient date, or provide a refund to you of the cost to us of the Event. Save as above we shall be under no further liability to you for cancellation of the Event or any part of it.
Cancellation by You
If you cancel some or all portions of your booking, cancellation fees will apply. A cancellation will only be effective when we receive a written confirmation of the cancellation. The cancellation fees differ depending on the tour. The information about the cancellation fees is clearly indicated in the itinerary of each tour (in the “more information” section) on our website tauritravel.com. By making a reservation for an Event, you accept and agree to cancellation fees for a given Event.
If you leave a trip for any reason after it has commenced we are not obliged to make any refunds for unused services. If you fail to join a tour at the Meeting Point, join it after departure, or leave it prior to its completion, no refund will be made. The above cancellation fees are in addition to fees which may be levied by accommodation providers, travel agents or third party tour and transport operator fees. We are not liable for any Event which happens before you board our transport at the Meeting Point or after you leave out transport at departure. We are also not liable for any problem arising from your failure to reach the Meeting Point on time, for whatever reason.
Failure to Provide an Event
If, due to reasons beyond our control, an Event is unable to take place due to (but without limitation); closure of premises, the ceases of trading, a change in supplier management, weather restrictions, we will provide you and your group with an alternative event and if this does not prove possible, a refund to you of the cost to us of the Event.
We reserve the right to impose surcharges up to 30 days before departure due to unfavourable changes in exchange rates, increases in costs of transportation, increases in local operator costs, taxes, or if government action should require us to do so. In such instances we will be responsible for any amount up to 2% of the Event price and you will be responsible for the balance. If any surcharge results in an increase of more than 10% of the Event price you may cancel the booking within 14 days of notification of the surcharge and obtain a full refund.
If your booking includes accommodation, the named accommodation will remain confidential to Tauri Travel and only be disclosed to you upon receipt of the completed the full payment and written confirmation from the supplier.
Meals are not included with Event bookings unless otherwise stated. The type of meals you will receive will be confirmed upon arrival at your accommodation (this may be hot or cold regardless of your quotation). Restaurant meals may require a pre-order to be completed by the lead name of the group. This should be completed and returned to us, or the venue as required. If a pre-order has not been completed, we accept no liability for meals not provided or delays in providing the meals for you. You will not automatically be sent any menus and menus may be of limited choice from a set-menu for groups. We will endeavour to meet any specialist dietary requests for any member of your group, but cannot guarantee these requests. We accept no liability if our suppliers are unable to meet these requests in advance, or once at the venue. If your group arrives late then we accept no liability.
In order for us to confirm your travel arrangements you must provide all requested details with the balance of the Event price. Necessary details vary by Event; they include but are not limited to full name as per passport, date of birth, nationality, passport number, passport issue and expiry date and any pre-existing medical conditions you have which may affect your ability to complete your travel arrangements. Failure to provide requested details may result in additional charges or non-refundable cancellation of Event booked by you.
Travel insurance is mandatory for all our travellers. Your travel insurance must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses and emergency repatriation with a recommended minimum coverage of US$200,000 for each of the categories of cover. We also strongly recommend it covers cancellation, curtailment, personal liability and loss of luggage and personal effects. You must provide a proof of your travel insurance on the first day of your Event in the case of Events not including Ecuador; otherwise, you will not be able to join the Event without it. In the case of Events including Ecuador, you must send us a proof of your travel insurance together with the booking form after receiving from us the confirmation of services. We cannot accept your booking for Event including Ecuador unless we receive from you the copy of travel insurance valid for your stay in South America during the given Event.
Passport and visas
You must carry a valid passport and have obtained all of the appropriate visas, permits and certificates for the countries which you will visit during your Event. Your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond the duration of the Event. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are in possession of the correct visas, permits and certificates for your Event; please refer to the (link) for details. We are not responsible if you are refused entry to a country because you lack the correct passport, visa or other travel documentation.
Tauri Travel and our tour leaders and representatives may provide you with information (before departure and/or on tour) about optional activities and excursions which do not form part of your pre-booked Event and which are available in the region you are visiting. Tauri Travel has no involvement in any such activities or excursions which are not run, supervised or controlled in any way by us. They are provided by local operators or other providers who are entirely independent and they may or may not have their own public liability insurance. They do not form any part of your contract with Tauri Travel even where we suggest particular operators/providers and/or assist you in booking such activities or excursions in any way. Where a tour leader or representative collects payment for, attends and/or completes, or otherwise assists in booking any such activity or excursion for you, we and the tour leader or representative act solely as a booking agent for the local operator or provider of the activity or excursion with whom you will have a direct contract. The local operator / provider’s terms and conditions will apply. We cannot accept any liability on any basis in relation to such activities or excursions. We do not guarantee that any optional activity or excursion mentioned in our brochure, on our website or elsewhere will be available to book during your Event and / or will operate as advertised as these services do not form part of our contract and are not under our control. They may not be available for various reasons. Any prices given in advance are indicative only. We will not be liable if you cannot, for whatever reason, book any such activity or excursion or if the activity or excursion does not operate as advertised.
You appreciate and acknowledge that the nature of this type of travel requires considerable flexibility and you should allow for alternatives. The itinerary provided for each Event is representative of the types of activities contemplated, but it is understood that the route, schedules, itineraries, amenities and mode of transport may be subject to alteration without prior notice due to local circumstances or events.
Authority on tour
Our group tours are run by a group leader or tour guides. The decision of the group leader/tour guide is final on all matters likely to affect the safety or well-being of any traveller or staff member participating in the tour. If you fail to comply with a decision made by a group leader/tour guide, or interfere with the well-being or mobility of the group, the group leader/tour guide may direct you to leave the tour immediately, with no right of refund. We may also elect not to carry you on any future tours booked. You must at all times comply with the laws, customs, foreign exchange and drug regulations of all countries visited, and you also agree to travel in accordance with our responsible travel guidelines.
Age & Health requirements
Minimum Age: For all our Events the minimum age is indicated in the itinerary. All travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian, or in lieu of a legal guardian, by an escort over the age of 18, appointed by their legal guardian. The legal guardian or their designee will be responsible for the traveller under the age of 18’s day to day care. If a legal guardian elects to designate an escort in their lieu, they will be required to complete and sign a relevant document, to delegate their authority. Please note we cannot guarantee triple or adjoining rooms for families; accompanying adults may be required to share with others in the group.
Maximum Age: there is no upper age limit for the Events though we remind you that our Events can be physically demanding and passengers must ensure that they are suitably fit to allow full participation.
The details on essential mandatory health requirements are provided in the tour pack associated with given Event on our website; however, we are not medical professionals. It is your responsibility to ensure that you obtain proper and detailed medical advice at least 60 days prior to travel for the latest health requirements and recommendations for your destination.
All participants in Events operated by Tauri Travel and our trusted partners are expected to obey the laws and regulations of the countries visited and any failure to do so will relieve Tauri Travel and its suppliers of all obligations that they may otherwise have under these booking conditions.
Alterations made by Us
If due to circumstances beyond our control it becomes necessary to substitute an alternative supplier, or make any other alterations to the event (including accommodation) we shall inform you of the changes as soon as possible. If the changes are, in the view of Tauri Travel Ltd., so substantial as to materially alter the event and you are unwilling to accept them then you may cancel the Event and we will give a refund of the cost of the Event to us. Surcharges may be applicable where an Event requires a minimum number of participants to proceed, and the group does not meet this minimum number. This could lead to the cancellation of the Event of which we are not held responsible and alternatives may be offered of an equal or greater value. If this value is greater, then you must pay us the difference in price. If the final number of a group is an odd number, then a single supplement surcharge may apply if the booking or an event (including accommodation) which is number dependent.
21. Alterations made by You
We shall try to accommodate any reasonable changes you wish to make to the Event. Alterations and amendment requests should be made with us and not end suppliers and should be made in writing to us by the lead name. These changes shall not be deemed accepted until we have confirmed in writing to you.
If you wish to transfer from one Event to another or transfer your booking to a third party you must notify us at least 60 days prior to the proposed departure date in the case of Events not including Galápagos and at least 70 days prior to the proposed departure date in the case of Events including Galápagos. If you notify us less than indicated number of days prior to the proposed departure date the refund policy applicable to cancellations by you (Clause 7 of Terms & Conditions) will apply. Transfers to a third party are only permitted where the transferee meets all the requirements in relation to the Event, and transfers to another departure can only be made to a departure within the current validity period. Any alternations made by You are subject to availability and fees may apply.
You shall at all times behave in a safe, responsible and courteous manner; comply with all instructions; regulations and codes of practice issued by us or our suppliers; ensure that you comply with all age restrictions imposed by our suppliers; ensure that you comply with all arrival times, and dress appropriately for the Event. If you breach these obligations we may cancel or curtail the event or any part of it and in those circumstances you shall not be entitled to any refund.
We shall take reasonable care and skill in arranging the Event and comply with all applicable laws in relation to the Event; where ever possible, re-schedule the Event instead of cancelling or offer a refund to you of the cost to us of the Event. All of the photographs and illustrations we use on our website and in literature (including quotations) we send you are for marketing purposes and may not entirely represent the actual products received.
If you have a problem whilst on your booking then you must contact the appropriate person(s) at the earliest opportunity, for example accommodation / restaurant manager. Unless there is a valid reason why you did not report your problem to the appropriate person(s), we will not consider ourselves liable for those complaints. If they are unable to resolve matters to your satisfaction then you must write to us within 15 days of the conclusion of the Event. No complaint will be accepted outside of this time frame thus deeming you fully satisfied with all aspects of the event and the services we have provided to you. We will endeavour to deal with the complaint as quickly as possible.
Photos and marketing
You consent to us using images of you taken during the Event for advertising and promotional purposes in any medium we choose. You grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable licence to use such images for publicity and promotional purposes.
Brochure / Website / Advertising Material Accuracy
The information contained in on our website and in other advertising materials is believed to be correct to the best of our knowledge. Errors may occasionally occur and information may subsequently change, therefore, please ensure you check all details of your chosen Event with us at the time of booking. Tauri Travel Ltd. cannot be held responsible for any omission, error or unintentional misrepresentation or misinterpretation that may appear in the brochure, on our website or in other advertising material.
If you have any special requests that do not automatically form part of your contract, please advise us at the time of booking and we will pass them onto the relevant supplier. However, we must stress as these will only be treated as a request and cannot be guaranteed and as such will not appear on any confirmation from ourselves.
The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 require us to provide security for the monies that you pay for the Event booked from us and for your repatriation in the event of our insolvency. Tauri Travel is a member of Protected Travel Services (PTS)  – all payments received by us from 01.07.2017 will be held in a trust account which guarantee financial protection required by law. Joining the Private Tour
Our responsibility and liability to you
We accept responsibility for the quality of the services which we provide. We also accept responsibility for any loss or damage which you or a member of your party may suffer as a result of the acts or omissions of our employees, agents, sub-contractors or suppliers. If you or any member of your party suffers death, injury or illness as a result of negligence of our employees, agents, sub-contractors or suppliers we will accept responsibility providing they were acting within the scope or in the course of their employment at the time of the occurrence, and pay such damages as might be awarded in such circumstances under English law subject to the following.
We cannot accept liability where the fault was due to usual or unforeseen circumstances (force majeure) or in the event of:
- i) you or any member of your party being at fault,
- ii) the failure being the fault of third party not connected with providing the services which make up your travel arrangements confirmed to you,
iii) any unusual or unexpected circumstances beyond our control which we could not have been foreseen even with all due care,
- iv) any event which we or the supplier of any service could not reasonably avoid or prevent. Additionally we cannot accept liability for any business losses.
It is a condition of this acceptance of liability that you notify us of any claim strictly in accordance with complaints terms and conditions as shown. Where any payment is made to you or a member of your party that person (or parent/guardian) will assign to us or our insurers any rights they may have to pursue any third party. In addition you must give us and/or our insurers your full co-operation.
If you or any member of your party suffers death, illness or injury whilst overseas arising out of an activity which does not form part of your package travel arrangements or an excursion arranged through us we shall at our discretion offer advice, guidance and assistance. Where legal action is contemplated and you want our assistance you must obtain our written consent prior to commencement of proceedings.
Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999
No part of this agreement shall confer on any third party any benefit or right to enforce any terms of this agreement.
This agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to deal with any disputes arising between You and us or our suppliers.
Changes to these Terms and Conditions
We may need to make changes to these terms and conditions. Any changes can only be made by us and not any third party member. We reserve the right to amend or improve these terms and conditions without prior notification. When it is necessary for changes to be made, we will forward you a copy of these changes and all reservations will abide by the amended terms, with the exception of reservations already made.

What personal information do we collect?
We collect the personal information only if the user has submitted them to us. Those personal information include, but are not limited to name, surname, billing and home address, phone number, passport number and e-mail address. Visitors may provide those information when they a) book an Event b) subscribe to newsletters or offers, c) fill the contact form. Visitors who don’t take any actions on our website may be anonymous and we do not force anyone to provide personal data.
How do we use your information?
We only use personal data provided by the user for the purpose/service it has been submitted for. After making a reservation of an Event by you with us, any personal information that we collect about you may be used for any purpose associated with the operation of the Event or to send you marketing material in relation to our Events and special offers. The information may be disclosed to our agents, service providers or other suppliers to enable us to operate the Event. We also may use personal data while preparing our internal market/business analysis.
How to unsubscribe us?
If you wish, you can be removed from our mailing lists. To unsubscribe from an e-newsletter, please write an e-mail to [email protected] We will remove you from the mailing list within 10 days after receiving your request.
4. Social Media
If you make use of any Tauri Travel Ltd. social media features, either on our website or through a social media provider, we may access your personal information via that social media provider in accordance with their policies. When using a social media feature and if you have chosen to include it in your social media account, we may access information such as your name, profile picture, gender, birthday, email address and others. Also, Tauri Travel may observe some accounts on social media, thus, we can obtain information about users which we follow, however, we do not collect or share personal information about those users.
5. Photographs, Videos and Testimonials
Images or videos taken during your holiday that contains your image may be used by Us for promotional and marketing purposes without charge in all media including (but not limited to) website and social media channels. Written feedback supplied to Tauri Travel Ltd. may also be used for marketing and advertising purposes. Also, any photographs, videos and text sent to Us must be the client’s own and by sending it, the client agrees that Tauri Travel Ltd. can use it for marketing purposes as well as for advertising. If you do not wish your image to be used in such a way, please, contact [email protected] When possible, we will try to remove image or video that contain your image, however we cannot guarantee that.

Please, notice that sending the information via the internet is not 100% secure and, although it is very unlikely, such information can be intercepted. We cannot guarantee the security of data that you choose to send us electronically. You send those information at your own risk.
